This gorgeous converted barn, overlooking Muscongus Bay, is a showcase of vintage lumber and unique architectural design. Rousseau Reclaimed sourced barn board for the ceiling beams, and the cotton mill oak, threshing floor pine and antique white pine for the floors. John Rousseau salvaged the oak timbers from a defunct cotton mill in Tennessee and shipped them to his shop in South Portland.
In the spring of 2019, Rousseau Reclaimed sourced vintage barn board for flooring, wainscoting, and shelving in a family residence on the Royal River.
A century-old barn was recently moved and restored as part of a family summer compound near the Sheepscot River. Rousseau Reclaimed sourced lumber for stair risers from the ground floor to the second floor, and in the sleeping loft.
Located in the College Hill neighborhood, the Providence store features weathered tin accents, floor-to-ceiling birch trees and a live wall, a combination of red barn boards and live plants. Rousseau Reclaimed sourced the red barn boards that cover the north wall of the store, as well as flooring and accent walls throughout.
