BEECH
fagus grandifolia
Beech is relatively uncommon in New England barns and more predominant in the Midwest. This wood has great apricot color tones. Its tight grain, with its large rays and fine lines, resembles those found in Maple and Birch. It has a medium resistance to shock, making it suitable for high-traffic flooring. Some of its characteristics include: color and grain variations, knots, saw kerf, light distressing, nail holes and other natural and man-made markings.
